Description

Eska-Med Scar Gel is a transparent topical silicone-based gel for scar management, helping improve the appearance of surgical, traumatic and burn scars. The gel forms a flexible, breathable, semi-occlusive silicone layer on the scar that dries quickly, helps maintain epidermal hydration and supports the natural scar maturation process. It helps soften and smooth the scar tissue and reduces scar-associated redness, itching, tightness and discomfort.

Advanced silicone formula. Eska-Med Scar Gel features an advanced, optimised silicone-based formulation incorporating silicone elastomer, Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS), Trisiloxane and Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate. It forms a breathable, flexible protective film that helps maintain skin hydration, soothe scar-related itching and discomfort, and improve the appearance of scars and the surrounding skin.

Directions

Make sure the skin is clean and dry and the wound is fully closed.
Apply a thin layer of gel over the scar and about 2 cm of the surrounding skin.
Let it dry for two to three minutes before covering with clothing.
Apply 3 to 4 times a day, or during the hours the scar sheet is not being worn.
Continue for 8 to 12 weeks for new scars, and 3 to 6 months for older scars.

Caution

Do not use if you have a history of sensitivity to silicone or silicone derivatives.
Do not use on open wounds, third-degree burns or stitches.
Store between 5–40 °C.
Keep out of reach of children.
Due to the lack of systemic absorption of silicone products, they rarely cause side effects.

How often should I apply the gel?

Three to four times a day, or during the hours a silicone sheet is not being worn. Let it dry for two to three minutes before covering the area with clothing.

Can I use make-up over it?

Yes. Once the film has dried it is flexible and transparent, and make-up can be applied on top.
